Smart Bond E-7018 electrode which is a heavy coated low hydrogen Controlled iron powder, all position electrode for welding of medium high tensile structural steels, heavy sections and restrained joints in high tensile steels. Gives smooth arc, medium penetration and less spatter. The slag has a glossy appearance and is easy to detach even from the first pass in the V grove. The weld metal which contains about 1.4% Mn is extremely resistant to cold and hot cracking and triaxial stressing. Deposition efficiency 112% approx. The weld are of radiographic quality. Typical applications include bridges, rail coaches, heavy machinery, tanks and earth moving equipment and generally for carbon steels and low alloy steel fabrications where severe service conditions are to be met.
